“Aesthetically pleasing surroundings are important. I wanted my clients to enjoy and thrive in the spaces that I created. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art – Interior Design from Northwestern University and then worked at a design studio in Evanston. After three years, I launched Sara Smith Interiors and never looked back. I was happy in business for forty years designing a variety of interiors. I especially loved to design living rooms as people saw this as the formal entry into their home so they were willing to spend more money and, in turn, that allowed me to be more creative. Even though I am no longer working, I still enjoy creating a sense of style around me, my family and friends.”
