A new veterans portrait photography exhibit is being installed at Belmont Village Senor Living Thousand Oaks in connection with the anniversary of the U.S. entry into World War II with the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
Portrait photographer Thomas Sanders will be back at Belmont Village to help dedicate the exhibit featuring 28 new images along with their respective stories. Sanders captures the men and women as they are today and superimposes them in front of a historic backdrop depicting their time in service, which is also a reflection on their own lives. The veterans are from World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War.
The gallery is a permanent exhibit at Belmont Village and a reception will feature a recognition ceremony to honor the veterans. The events are open to the public with reservations suggested.
The event will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, with the recognition ceremony starting at 2:30 p.m., at Belmont Village, 3680 N. Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks. Call 805-496-9301.
