“I started designing jewelry in the late 1980s when I took a two-year course at a community college in San Francisco. What initially started as five women learning how to make jewelry during the day and going home to feed the kids at night, turned into a big business. At one point, I had a studio in San Francisco’s Opera Plaza where one Christmas I made seventy-five pairs of cufflinks for the San Francisco Opera Company. My sons and daughter, and all of their friends, came to me to design their engagement and wedding rings.”
